Study, Plan, Attack: Understanding the Fracked Gas Hydra!

As part of the Beat the Pipelines Tour; in solidarity with the Unist’ot’en warriors and all rebels revolting against industrial expansion, we are presenting a brief anaylsis of LFG (Liquid Fracked Gas) in the lower mainland, sunshine coast and vancouver island.  Members of the Unist’ot’en Clan are standing strongly in the path of multiple pipelines, with threats of an impending showdown looming. Tenticles of this same beast spread throughout the territories. We are anarchists wanting to have some discussion on ideas of how/where to confront this beast in our own backyard and strengthen the entirety of the struggle.

When:  2-4pm Saturday July 26th

Where: Victoria BC at the new MOCL satellite venue at 1060 North Park (if we over flow the space we’ll head to Mason St. Park!)

Unist’ot’en Clan Refuse All Pipeline Projects: A Video Message

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 18th, 2014

[Unist’ot’en Territory – near Smithers, BC] Amid threats of a raid and impending pipeline approvals, the Unist’ot’en Clan of the Wet’suwet’en Nation are prepared to continue to defend their territories against the incursion of government and industry. A soft blockade was erected in 2009, which remains today, to insure that pipeline projects which violate Wet’suwet’en Law would not trespass onto Wet’suwet’en territories to develop projects without their consent.

Beat The Pipelines – From the Unist’ot’en Camp to our own Backyard

The Unist’ot’en Camp is an indigenous led resistance camp held on  traditional Wet’suwet’en territories in northern BC. They are standing in the way of multiple oil and gas pipeline developments. These pipelines would not only mutilate and degrade the land and water everywhere they pass, they would also increase the highly destructive extraction practices such as Hydraulic Fracturing (fracking) and Tar Sands exploitation.  The most urgent of these threats, the Pacific Trail Pipelines (PTP) would pump fracked gas from northeast BC to an LNG plant in Kitimat for tanker export. This would also clear the way for the multiple destructive pipeline projects planning on following this path (including the much maligned Enbridge Northern Gateway initiative).

Closer to home, proposed LNG plants in Squamish and Campbell River and related pipelines would link up to the same fracked gas transportation matrix. This would also cause heavy tanker traffic in the Howe Sound and throughout the lower islands and lower mainland region, contribute to global industrial devastation, ocean acidification and climate chaos…

We will talk about strategies for opposing these developments in our own backyard and how this relates to the growing constellation of solidarity with the Unist’ot’en Camp and other front lines of resistance. In order to stop this many-headed beast, we must cauterize it’s neck with the firebrand of generalized social rebellion.  For life, land and the liberation of desire – against the industrial system that threatens to strangle us all.

Beat The Pipelines Tour

Shout out to all those resisting exploitation, resource extraction and the state here on Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland.

A crew of autonomous musicians, anarchists, organizers and and general trouble makers are kicking off a tour this July to connect with you.  We’re looking to build solidarity and relationships so that together we can stand strong in the face of the industrial Hydra of Fracked Gas, Pipelines, LFG Liquification Facilities, Clearcuts, Tankers and destroy that which destroys us.

Check out our tour dates to see if we’re coming to your community and get in touch if you want to organize a show, workshop, bbq, raucous or to get your hands on some of the publications we be distroing.

We also need folks to help us find yards or woods to camp in so if you can help give us a shout.

Check back here for updates on the tour schedule and more!
